Breaking the Turfgrass Ceiling - Teaser

This is the teaser I created for the Documentary series I helped produce, film, and edit: Breaking the Turfgrass Ceiling. It is an online mini-series about women in the professional turfgrass managment industry that performed maintenance on the golf course for the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open in Pine Needles, NC. My partner, Dr. Shiela Schroeder and I shot everything together during that week, and the full series is available to watch on Youtube here:

Legends

Pine Needles has a unique history in the world of Women’s Golf. In this episode, we hear from the daughters of the legendary Peggy Kirk Bell as they share cherished memories, and continue to carry on her legacy. I took a lead role in editing this episode, and I am honored to help share in the memory of Peggy Kirk Bell and Bonnie Bell McGowan.

The Last Day

In this episode, team members reflect on their time in Pine Needles and take pride in the work they carried out during the week. All great things must come to an end, but they will take with them friendships, fond memories, and some renewed faith in lifting up women in the turf industry for years to come. I again took a lead role in editing this, and am so thankful for the opportunity to tell the stories of these amazing women, and to be a part of such a creative and supportive production and editing team.

Remote Patient Monitoring

Sunrise Labs wanted to showcase their expertise in developing connected medical devices, and to explain the ways in which this technology is becoming more and more useful in the medical device industry along with some of the challenges that come with it. I worked with CTO Adam Jacobs to create this video diving into the future of connected medical devices.

Quality and Test Expertise at Sunrise Labs

Quality is crucial to success in the medical device industry. The goal of this video was to explain Sunrise Labs’ Quality Management System, and how it differs from their competition. This video was shot using a series of interviews that I conducted over 2 weeks. I shot 21 interviews in that time frame that I edited to create multiple videos.

The Internet of Things Squeeze Meter

Sometimes, illustration is the best way to communicate with viewers. The goal of this video was to show off the company’s ability to develop connected devices, and the value that connected devices hold in the medical device industry. I animated the entirety of this in Adobe After Effects.

Narrative/Other

Lemonade

This short narrative film was directed by my friend Sam Pacala. In it, “A depressed, young man on the verge of losing his relationship, finds help from one of the most unlikely of sources: the girls who run the neighborhood lemonade stand” I assisted Sam and the Cinematographer, Cole Johnsen, in lighting and composition, and operated the camera for some of the shots in the film.
